The Isle of Man Tourist Trophy (TT) is a very important race for most motorbike manufacturers. The electric class of this race helps the companies showcase the cutting edge of electric bike technology that they have to offer.
In order to make sure that their team leads the pack in the contest this year, Victory Motorcycles has introduced a brand new version of their Victory RR Electric Superbike. This bike is based on the Empulse RR superbike, which the company added to their lineup as a result of their acquisition of Brammo from the Polaris Group.
The R&D team that came with the bike as part of the deal helped revamp the bike to make sure that it got the push required to get it on 1st place on the podium, which would be a significant improvement over their 3rd place in last years competition.
The improvements made to the bike feature a brand new steel trellis frame, along with a power hike from 150 (112 kW) to 174 hp (130 kW). The bike is also able to produce 240 Nm (177 lb-ft) of torque, which combined with the power output helps push the bike from 0 to 60 mph in under 3 seconds. The top speed caps around 160 mph (257 km/h).
To cope with the extra power, the battery itself has been redesigned for better capacity and energy density. The battery features lithium-ion battery technology, which has seen steady improvements in both performance and efficiency year by year.
If you want to experience what we are talking about, you can buy the production model of the bike. But as for this race model, you’ll just have to wait and watch the race.
